Evan â Six
He put the disk in the player, crossed the room, and slid under the covers. He loved violent, sexy movies. A little rape, a lot of violence. The way the women squirmed and begged and became compliant. Not easy to watch movies on weeknights. The Witch was always coming in and lecturing him about wasting his time. When he watched a violent movie, he liked to get naked under the covers, rub himself all over with her panties, and jerk off. These days, the cold metal of the stolen knife against his thigh made it even better.
The near certainty of a visit from The Witch put kind of a damper on his pleasure Tonight, though, sheâd gone out. When she got back, sheâd go straight to bed. She always did when she was out late.
He wanted to watch a woman writhe and scream. He wanted to see her degraded and hurt. Thatâs what he planned for Mrs. Jordan. He needed to see her punished for what sheâd done to him. Sometimes, before he went to sleep, heâd play over in his mind the things heâd like to do to her, imagining the look on her face, her screams. Once, she had mattered a lot to him. Now he could cheerfully watch her be raped and dismemberedâmaybe even do it himselfâand feel nothing but satisfaction.
The other night, talking to that reporter, Hovarth, heâd felt he was with a kindred spirit. More than anyone, Hovarth seemed to understand what a despicable person his teacher was. When he told the reporter about the times theyâd been together, how sheâd led him on, seducing him with hopes and expectations, then coldly dumping him, heâd thought the man was going to cry. That had made him feel better.
The police were okay, but theyâd been cops, after all. Skeptical. Asking lots of questions to see if he was telling the truth. In the end, when he described her sheets, what was in her bedside tables, and told how she liked to have sex, theyâd been convinced. Ha! And Mrs. Jordan thought he wasnât a good actor. He was good enough to fool her into spending all that time alone with him because he was so bad at his lines.
Those had been good times. Heâd miss that. Now he saw those times as just another way sheâd tricked him. Listening so intently. Pretending to be sympathetic. As if she cared his dad had deserted them and his mother was a witch. As if she understood.
Now she was the one who had to understandâabout crossing him, about betrayal. Sheâd gotten her first taste of it yesterday. The look on her face when the cops put handcuffs on her and dragged her out the door. Pure shock and humiliation. Did she think only she got to humiliate, that it would never come back at her? Sheâd looked like she was gonna be sick when that big cop put her into the car. It sent him straight to the bathroom to jerk off.
